Meet Me

neophilia

noun  neo·phil·ia \ˌnē-ə-ˈfi-lē-ə\

  1. :  love of or enthusiasm for what is new or novel
Hi. My name is Jen. And, according to Webster-Merriam's dictionary, I have neophilia. Lest you be confused that means I love to try new things. Pretty much any new thing. Right now there are about 4 (four) different boxes in my bedroom with 'NEW' products I wanted to try. Generally for free or a major discount. Always with some sort of money-back guarantee.

I've got a new lipstick type product that everyone is buzzing about. A jewelry subscription box that lets me essentially 'borrow' as much jewelry as I want each month. The 'try before you buy best fitting bra ever'. Swimwear at a steal. And let's not forget the two pair of athletic leggings on their way that I got free 'just for signing up'.

We won't talk about the protein powder I found at the grocery store or the 'Make My Book Service' from Shutterfly that's up on my laptop. Guys. It doesn't matter if it's a cleaning product (have you tried Norwex?), a skincare product (too many to list!) or anywhere in between...I want to try it!

You can ask anyone who knew me growing up...I've always been a curious person. Often to the annoyance of the supervising adult ;) When I see an ad on TV or Facebook or Instagram, I can't help but wonder..."Does that really work?".

Fortunately, with a lot of time and intentional effort, I've developed the self-discipline that makes me not a marketer's dream (despite my husbands teasing claim!). That means I return a lot of stuff. Maybe it didn't work, maybe it didn't work well enough to balance the cost/benefit ratio and maybe I didn't need it.

Here's the point. At the end of the day, I love trying new things and sharing with others what works well and what's a total waste. Usually I simply post my latest find on Facebook or Instagram but this let's me give more details and more reviews to the people who might be interested (if that's you then you should probably 'follow'/subscribe!).

I promise to give you all the details plus share if it's a scam or a steal so you can either avoid or take advantage!

How can you help? If you see a product you're curious about post a link to either this blog or our facebook page! I'll definitely check it out!

And hey, if you sell something and want me to give it a try and write a review...send it my way! Just be forewarned, I'll be honest whether it's free or not ;)

I hope you'll stay tuned for upcoming reviews on some great (and some not so great) products like...
